Fueling curiosity, Igniting ambition.

Be part of a growing and thriving team, take your passion and knowledge for aerospace and turn it into industry-relevant skills

Overview

NYU Rogue Aerospace is currently transitioning to a more complicated rocket system than it ever has before and we are looking for undergrad students to take a more hands-on role in developing NYU and Brooklyn’s First-Ever Hybrid Rocket. Rogue Aerospace is currently in the NASA USLI Competition where the competition is largely focused on payload and mission design with technical documentation. Next semester Rogue will be attempting to enter a competition that focuses on designing and delivering a reliable hybrid propulsion vehicle to a predicted apogee.

Your work will have a direct impact on the project since it will be the university’s first time ever taking this challenge head on. So we are looking for passionate individuals who want to shoot for the same goal.

You will work on…

  • Hybrid Rocket Propulsion – Design and test a hybrid engine using solid fuel and liquid oxidizer.

  • Structural & Aerodynamic Design – Model and fabricate a high-performance rocket.

  • Avionics & Control Systems – Develop flight computers, sensors, and telemetry systems.

  • Launch Operations – Prepare for testing and launching the rocket in a controlled environment.

Why Apply:

Hands-On Engineering

Gain experience in propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, and avionics—all crucial to aerospace and mechanical engineering.

Collaborate & Innovate

Join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and problem-solvers.

Real-World Impact

Work on a cutting-edge project that could put NYU on the map in collegiate rocketry competitions.
